Frank Ferrari is a lifelong Reno resident who grew up working the very land that’s been in his family since 1912. From harvesting sweet corn and vegetables to growing potatoes, onions, and raising livestock, farming has always been more than a livelihood—it’s been a way of life.

In 1997, Frank planted the first seeds of what would become Reno’s original pumpkin patch. Now, 28 years later, Ferrari Farms has grown into a beloved local destination. What began with pumpkins has blossomed into a vibrant farm experience that includes blooming sunflower fields, barn dances, baby goat yoga, outdoor movie nights, and a month-long Fall Festival. Throughout the year, the farm hosts a variety of events that bring the community together in meaningful ways.

At its core, Ferrari Farms isn’t about commercialization—it’s about authenticity. From historic farm buildings dating back to the 1800s to keeping activities affordable for all families, the farm remains deeply rooted in tradition and accessibility. For Frank, the greatest reward is seeing generations return: parents who once came as children now bring their own kids and even grandchildren to experience the magic.

Ferrari Farms is more than a place—it’s a legacy. A living piece of Reno’s history where community connection, tradition, and memory-making continue to grow with each passing season.

Meet Frank — the heart behind Ferrari Farms today.

bit better

Over 110 years ago, Dominico and Caterina Ferrari planted more than crops here along the Truckee River — they planted roots for a family and a legacy that has been growing ever since. They worked from sunup to sundown, enduring droughts, floods, and challenges most of us will never know, but always with the vision of creating something lasting.

Fast forward to 1997, when Frank Jr. set out a few pumpkins in the corner of a field for neighbors to enjoy. What started as a simple gesture quickly became something much bigger. Families came, kids picked pumpkins, and memories were made. The next year, a hayride was added. Soon after, a corn maze. And year after year, something new and exciting joined the tradition.

Today, that little pumpkin patch has grown into the Ferrari Farms Fall Festival — celebrating 28 years of pumpkins, laughter, and community. With over 40 varieties of pumpkins and squash, a corn maze, hayrides, food, vendors, sunflowers, baby goat yoga, paintball zombie hunts, birthday parties, and more — this is more than just a farm. It’s a place where memories are made and families return year after year.

When you step onto our farm, you’re not just visiting — you’re becoming part of our story. Every time you bring your kids to the patch, every photo you take in the sunflower fields, every evening spent at our fire pits, you’re keeping the Ferrari family legacy alive and helping us continue to grow.

We believe this isn’t just our farm — it’s yours, too. And we can’t wait to welcome you back this year to celebrate with us.
